We start out with this adrenaline rush once we sign up for that program in hopes of making money online and rush into completing as much as we can in as little time as possible. When you work from home and run a profitable home based business, it is very easy to work your buns off. You might find that since you are working from home, there is simply no set time where your work is finished. You might feel that since you are at home anyways, the project that you didn't complete during the day could be completed if you just work long into the night. You simply don’t have to come home from work because you are already there. On the other hand, it might be very tempting to not work very much during certain days. You might feel as though since you are working from home at your profitable home based business, you can go ahead and take whatever breaks you feel like taking, and if you don't want to work in the morning or work all day long, you don't have to. Either way, you are going to run into some problems. First of all, you are going to find that if you work too much at your profitable home based business then you are taking away from your home and from your family. You might also find that if you fail to work when you are supposed to, you aren't going to meet deadlines, and your business is going to suffer. No matter which of these problems you have, there is one clear solution, and that is to pace yourself. You need to take direction from yourself, but you also need to actually set goals and expectations for yourself, even if you are the only employee of your profitable home based business. There are several good ways to do this. The first thing that you can do is set a timetable for when you are going to work and when you aren't. Set actual office hours, and stick to them, even if it is only a few hours a day. You can make this easier by also scheduling yourself time to do other things. Leave one afternoon free for running errands, and another one free for cleaning your house. If you schedule yourself completely, you'll find that you can more easily stick to your schedule. Remember that the most important things you can do in order to pace yourself include writing down when assignments and projects are due, and then making a chart of work days to allow yourself plenty of time to complete them. This is the most important thing, because if you allow yourself plenty of time to complete everything, you'll find that you are much more able to actually get the work done that is allotted to you, and your profitable home based business is going to be even more of a success. The most important key to pacing yourself is having good time management skills, and being able to implement them in a profitable home based business setting. I've found that writing a daily to-do list and keeping it in front of you at all times helps, as well as making sure your to-do list manageable for you. I've spent a little extra money to try some things out lately, and Ewen Chia's AutoPilot Profits is one of the purchases I've recently made and tried out. Both Stone Evans of the Plug-in Profit Site, and Ewen Chia of the AutoPilot Profit System are gurus in the internet marketing world. Both are highly respected, and their products in high demand. After reading through AutoPilot Profits, I came to the conclusion that if you are not already a member of the Plug-in Profit Site, then the AutoPilot Profit System is a good, quick read that gives you a lot of the same internet marketing methods that are laid out for you in the Plug-in Profit Site program. If you are a newbie to internet marketing, and not already a member of the Plug-in Profit Site, then for $27.00, you can't really go wrong with AutoPilot Profits. But that price is not guaranteed to stay that rediculously low, so if you want it, you have to get a copy as soon as possible! However, the Plug-in Profit Site program, in my mind, has far more educational value and support if you want to build and maintain a profitable online business, whereas the AutoPilot Profit System is more like a quick outline and overview. Nevertheless, the concepts and methods discussed are virtually the same. I did learn a few new things from AutoPilot Profits that I'd like to put to the test. For example, it has only been recently discussed in the Plug-in Profit Site Support Forum at the Warrior Forum about using Squidoo, a social bookmarking site that is also recommended in AutoPilot Profits. Many Plug-in Profit Site members have already created their Squidoo lens to increase their traffic through social bookmarking, but social bookmarking is fairly new, and not really included in the Plug-in Profit Site's 30-day training guide. Perhaps it will be in the near future as things change and Stone adds new and hot items to the 30-day program. Also, while Stone had implemented using Clickbank as part of a Plug-in Profit Site signup requirement at one time, he has since taken it out as a requirement. I left mine in, with no regrets as it is a quick and easy way to make money online! The AutoPilot Profit System also encourages the use of Clickbank to sell affiliate products. However, it goes into a little more detail than what is discussed at the Plug-in Profit Site, such as how valuable it is to sell your own products on Clickbank. If you are not selling your own products, then it also discusses getting Master Resale Rights to the products you purchase so that you can sell them for 100% of the profits and have other affiliates sell the product for you as well. AutoPilot Profits also goes into more detail about creating your own product and selling it on eBay. For example, if you write a short report and sell it for $7.00, your profits could go viral with the popularity of eBay. Basically both systems encourage the same marketing methods, such as blogging, forum posting, classified ads, link generating, and article writing. All-in-all, the Plug-in Profit Site's educational component and support is far more valuable and superior in my mind, and yet AutoPilot Profits discusses social bookmarking, Clickbank, and eBay in far greater detail, which I think should be discussed in the Plug-in Profit Site. If you are serious about building a business, I would choose the Plug-in Profit Site. Or start with AutoPilot Profits, then move on to the Plug-in Profit Site. Last summer, I even went on a vacation and left my business behind and it still worked for me while I was away. Sometimes offline advertising methods work better than online advertising methods. For your dog grooming business you could post flyers or posters very inexpensively. Business cards are cheap and easy to distribute as well. If you have a profitable home based business online, that's another story. In that case, it's also a good idea to advertise offline and extend your reach, but of course advertising online is mainly what you want to spend your advertising dollars on. But it doesn't have to be expensive if you look to advertising on free blogs, discussion forums, free classifieds, and through website link exchanges. Also, one of the best cheap ways to advertise is by writing good quality, original articles and distributing them to publishers across the internet. All of these methods allow you to advertise your website link. Usually when you write articles you have to pay for a monthly article distribution service. It may be free at first, but then you are encouraged to upgrade. I would consider this a great investment of your advertising dollars, above many other methods. While article distribution is a slower approach to making money, it's a quick approach to getting backlinks to site, and building traffic. You can also pay for posting your link in different link directories and I would consider this another good investment, especially if the link directory service you are paying for tells you what the Page Rank of the site you're linking to is. When you have your website listed on a higher ranked site, you will likely get more exposure. Not to mention, this is a quicker way of spreading your links around rather than manually visiting sites yourself and having to enter in your website's information each time. There will be expenses whenever you own a profitable home based business, but just keep in mind that if you budget both your time and money, and choose how you wish to spend your advertising dollars wisely, then you should be on the right track.
