I made some neat changes to my main page today that I'm proud of! Check it out! One of my favourite things to do in my online business is changing my website. This I have done without any previous knowledge of HTML, and now look at me go! Sometimes it can take a while to change things correctly without messing up my site, but I've stopped panicking whenever my site is out of line like I did when I first started out. Now I'm in the driver's seat and boy it feels good! I feel better about making my site more personal. I hope I didn't write too much! But because I was busy working on my site and surfing for a few more credits, I didn't make it the forums today, or gather up anymore links. Oh ya! I did however submit my last original article to a few new and very cool high PR article directories! Today I had the day off work - my full-time job that is - and do you think I could fit in enough time to work on my profitable home based business? Hahaha! Never enough time in the day like my article here explains... Not Enough Time in the Day?Well, my initial goal of the day was something I've had on my mind recently, about putting some personality into your profitable home based business. If all you do is shoot out boring article after boring article, chances are you're going to lose some prospects, business relationships, and possibly even sales. That's why today, I meant to change the Welcome blurb on my main site. I did add something new recently about being an honest business owner, and willing to answer everyone's questions, no B.S. I like that, although I hear that being honest sometimes isn't the greatest thing for boosting your sales. For example, in my Monthly Progress Report, I tell you what my monthly earnings are, even though I'd rather they be much higher...Doesn't everyone starting a profitable home based business wish for that? I prefer to have your trust, so I will continue being honest. Trust is what builds relationships, and who will want to do business with you if you make false claims? Not that you have to make a false claim...I could choose not to post my monthly earnings for example, and have you think I'm maybe more profitable than I actually am. But why do that? To make some extra sales? That's not really who I am, and not my bottom line, although, I have monetary goals for my profitable home based business just like everyone else. Anyway, I meant to change my main site's Welcome blurb and probably eventually my new lead capture pages to include a little bit more about myself and how I got started with my internet marketing business. I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow! Adding personality to your profitable home based business can be crucial to your online success. It can make or break you really. People like to join programs and start working with and for people who they like. If someone doesn't like me and the personality I portray online, they probably won't do business with me, and quite frankly, you can't please everyone, nor should you have to, or try to! Being yourself, and showing people who you are will help build you a profitable home based business. So tomorrow I will try to show more of myself on my main page. But right now, I have to go watch a DVD I rented! It is non-business related, but I couldn't find the movie The Secret that everyone is talking about these days. That, apparently, is pretty big in the online business world too - about manifesting your goals and dreams and making them real! I may even have to write an article about that someday! Once in a while you have to let your personality show through after all! I've been working very hard this month on my online marketing business, and it's no wonder I'm feeling tired! Zzzzzz..... Just wanted to keep you posted with all I've been working on. A lot of it appears on my monthly progress report Mar.17th, but I continue to try new things! Lately I've been a wee bit obsessed with trying to get 500 unique visitors to my site daily. Today I got to 400, and only once ever have I been above 500 unique visitors. The way I'm trying to do this is by blogging daily, adding fresh content to my site, as well as writing and submitting 1 original article per week. My obsession with articles and blogging lately, as well as surfing for enough traffic credits has made it more difficult to post in forums and gather links. However, both of these things are crucial to my success! Not enough time in the day...I wrote an article once about that too! I've tried a few new free classified sites lately. My craigslist ad keeps getting deleted for some reason even though it's been the same ad that has been perfectly accepted for a year now, so I just changed that too. I have a new list of top article directories that I'm going to start submitting to that have a higher PR. I've added tags to my blog and article posts. I've briefly tried out WebCEO as referred to me by someone smart on the Warrior Forum recently! I'm working on keywords... The list goes on. So really the bottom line is getting more traffic to my site. This sounds self-serving, I know, but I want to be honest with everyone who visits my site, and make sure I have a good thing to offer before I start writing and selling reports and ebooks. My articles have great substance and offer lots of great tidbits of information that are useful for you and your online marketing businesses. In fact, I am giving this information away for free and maybe shouldn't be! But I'm still working hard for me, so that I can turn around and help you with your online marketing businesses too. I feel successful in my business so far, but have some goals I want to reach so that I can offer you more and better information. Time to get some Zzz's... It doesn't matter where in the world you live and work. However, as with anything else online, some of these opportunities are just too good to be true. There are several things that you can do to make sure that you don't end up beings scammed out of your hard earned money, or the time you've spent on your online business. Tip number one when you're looking into making money on the internet is to do your research. If you get paid to do work online, do a search on the business name or email address and see if anything suspicious comes up. Try to deal with people who have good reputations, or at least who don't have bad reputations. You should try to avoid people who send you emails from a free email address, unless they include a lot of business information that you can check and verify. Remember that you should always be on the look out for potential scammers. Try to ask as many questions of your online business contact before you begin work. If you're doing a job as your way of making money on the internet, be sure there is a work contract that you can sign and keep for your own records, so that you will have proof if anything goes wrong, or if you do work that you aren't paid for. The more information you are getting on the person who is offering you work, the better chance you have of staying clear of scammers, because often scammers will not give you very much information. Another tip is to make sure that you are keeping very close records of your own work. Keep track of everything you do and how much you need to be paid for it, and be sure to keep track of when that payment has been received. It's a good idea to create a folder for each piece of mail you might receive and know exactly where everything is so that it's easily accessible and retrievable. If you can, try to keep records of all of the communications that you have with the people who are recruiting you to work, and make sure that they are always answering your questions. Lastly, get to know your business contact before you start working for them. Make sure that you are able to trust this person, and that they have given you enough information so that you feel they are trustworthy. You should be able to know if you can really trust someone or not by the time you begin to work with them. The best thing to do is to avoid the places and the people who you simply don't trust. If you don't trust someone, you shouldn't try making money on the internet with or for that person. That is just a good rule of thumb to keep in mind. You shouldn't be working for those that you do not trust, and this should go for all types of work, whether it is from home or not. I know this from my own experience working online and starting an online business from home. The great thing about doing business online is that you really don't have to have your own product or service to sell. While it can really boost your sales and reputation to have your own product to sell, you can make a good income through affiliate selling too. Affiliate selling means placing a link on your website to other people's products and/or services and earning a commission whenever someone clicks on those links and buys something from that link. Whether you have your own product or service, or are promoting someone else's, you can really start making a lot more money online if you have a good sales letter to promote. A sales letter is like a web page that provides all the benefits someone would receive by buying your product or service. It's like a big, bold, loud advertisement - the kind you might see on TV, only people surfing the net perhaps would come across it wherever you choose to display it. There are many elements of a good sales letter, or ad copy, that can help you start making money. Try as you might to throw one together yourself without knowing about and including these important elements, and I hate to say you may see very few sales. So what must you do to start making money with sales letters? First, you need a catchy title or headline for your sales page. When you read the newspaper, you look first at the headline to see if it's anything you want to read further about. If it's a boring heading like "Dog Grooming", your visitors may not see that as a reason to read any further. You can't make sales if your readers don't go beyond the headline. Instead you may choose a title like "Top Ten Dog Grooming Tips that will Make Your Pup #1". Next, you want to define a problem that your readers or visitors might be having. For example, if your dog is competing in a dog show, but you haven't found a way to make them jump through hoops, then you've just found a problem to describe: "Can't get your pup to jump through hoops?" Naturally, you would next offer a solution to the problem, such as offering a special training course for new pups on jumping through hoops, or perhaps a special Mexican jumping bean for dogs? Following the solution, you want to start providing some information about yourself so that your readers and visitors know that you are someone they can trust, and someone they want to do business with. You can then provide the benefits of purchasing your product or service, such as beating the competition, learning the ropes of training your dog, or that it's a healthy food alternative for competitive dogs. If you want to start making money with sales letters, it's also a good idea to include testimonials from others who have used your product or service and been satisfied with it. If you have testimonials it really builds credibility. It should include the person's name, where they are from, and their URL or phone number to ensure that it is not a false testimonial, which is against the law. Next, you can start making money by telling the customer how to purchase your product or service. Provide the link to the order form, price, extra bonus incentives, and a guarantee policy. A guarantee policy is a good thing to have because it builds trust. If the customer has a free 14-day trial, then they have nothing to lose. If there is a money-back guarantee, there is nothing to lose, and they will be more inclined to make the purchase. Another good trick to start making money is to make a time-limited offer that encourages them to buy right now, as opposed to giving them a chance to think about it and come back later, which they may not.
