The past month has seen a lot of new changes for me and my website! I'm excited to report all the new things I've tried over the past month. I realize that I cannot keep doing the same things I have done over the past year if those things are not producing the kind of results I want. So I have ventured into new territory that has made a difference to my list and traffic! For one thing, I like my site to be #1-3 in Google for the term "honest money making". I seem to have lost that position, so I decided it's time to revamp my choice of keywords and choose better ones. So after doing some keyword research I have selected new keywords for my site, have optimized my site with those keywords, and have been writing articles on those terms. Now when I type in "honest money making" into Google, my latest article on that topic is #1 in Google! This term however is not really my best term, and my site is still struggling in the Google listings for some reason I have to investigate further. I have also decided to purchase GetResponse Powerleads this month, and I'm happy with the results of that so far. It's a slow, but steady daily growth of my subscriber list, but this month is probably the highest growth of subscribers I've ever had thanks to that! As well as buying the leads, I have also created my own lead capture pages and from that have received at least 50 new subscribers, however, none of them are confirming through GetResponse after that, so I'm frustrated with Getresponse's double opt-in requirement and not sure how to resolve that problem. I have also purchased a Just Articles subscription this month and going to test that over the next few months to see if I want to continue with this or not. It provides me with new material for my blog mostly and gives me some good article writing ideas for my own original articles. So far my traffic has increased thanks to this! On my site, I have added some new Clickbank products that are doing well and helping with the sales. I have to say since I started Clickbank, I love it! I have also tried a new screensaver called Screenblaze which advertises whichever page I want to everyone else who uses Screenblaze. Nothing like free traffic and advertising! I like it and it does not interfere with anything while I'm working! I have removed the Survey poll question from my site. While interactivity is a good thing, very few people were actually taking the survey and I saw no benefit of having this on my site. I may also remove the Tell-A-Friend service from my blog in the near future. Part of the reason for removing this from my site was that I added a new exit page from OtoGoldmine which advertises many good products for $19.00. I'm not sure this is giving me any good results, so after some testing, I'll decide whether or not to keep that. I have also signed up for Jimmy D. Brown's InfoProfitShare program and used some of that material on my site. I have been consistently and daily surfing for Traffic Swarm credits again and have decided this is a good thing for seeing what programs are popular and what's new out there. Not to mention, since I'm paying for a PRO membership, I think it has been a waste of my money to purchase traffic credits. I also tried a Surveys program with no success there. A waste of money for me, but live and learn! I feel I am getting squashed by the competition in terms of PIPS sales and SFI. Just goes to show I need more work in those areas. Thankfully most of the reasons for working at home do create joy and happiness. Here are some of the joys: In the fast paced job market, it might seem like there is never enough time to do what you really want to do - be at home with your family and take care of what you need to take care of while you are there. Luckily, now there are many ways that you can work from home. There are many joys of being able to make money from home, and make enough that it is actually worth it. First of all, if you have children, you are going to get to be there for them during the day when they are young, and after school when they are older. You will never get the chance to be there for your children again, because once they grow up, that's it! So, you should take every opportunity to be near them and take care of them when they are young. Also, by working and making money from home, you can make sure that you don't have to pay for childcare. Most of the time, people end up spending the money that they earn directly on childcare. Unless they love their jobs and need to do their jobs, it simply isn't worth it for someone to work part time just to pay someone else to take care of their kids while they are working. Think about how nice it would be to be able to actually make money from home, and not need to spend any of it on childcare. Also, there is a certain freedom that comes along with making money from home. By being at home and staying at home you are there to tackle things that come up and to keep a handle on the way that the house operates. You are there to be in charge. Well I've just had my first experience with this over the past 4 days. What did we ever do before there was an internet?? Thursday I could not connect all day. Called my network service provider and they couldn't send a technician until this afternoon. I decided there was nothing I could do about the problem, so I should try my best not to stress about all the emails I could not pick up, that were bouncing because my mailbox quota has been exceeded, and the important business I have missed. I was on a business roll too, having made many changes lately and trying out new things, and working hard every day. Hopefully I can get back into the groove now that I'm up and running again. It was a problem with my next-door-neighbour's equipment so nothing to do with me or wiring in my house. Not fair. Oh well, I can only take these things to mean that I needed a break from my computer and business, so I took one, and went shopping instead :) Why not replace my internet addiction with a shopping addiction? I also got some fresh air and did all those things around the house that I've been putting off for a while now. Sometimes you just need a break, even if it's a break you are forced to take.
