Getting Your Online Business Tasks Completed

As many of you may know if you've been keeping up with my blog and internet activities, it has been a tough few months as far as staying motivated to work on my online business goes. Now that the air is chilling outside, I am slowly but surely creeping back to business...

One thing to keep in mind when trying to get things done is that having a daily to-do list is very important for maintaining consistency of action in your online business. It is crucial to stick to a plan that works for you, and if it's not working for you, and you still aren't getting things done, then it's really time to take a step back and re-create your to-do list into smaller action steps that you can and will complete.

At the start of my business I had an incredible energy, and was putting all I had into my online business. I was proud of my daily to-do list and it was working for me. But it was a very general list. For example, I wrote on my list that I should write an article every other day, submit it to my blog, and on the days in between I would submit someone else's article. I wrote on my list to make forum posts, get links, and learn something new.

Well those days are gone, because now I find that list is far too general and not enough to motivate me every day, as I found out how late that keeps me up at night after my day job and how tired I was!

So now I have re-written my list into something more specific, and less time-consuming, although it still does require a lot of work, but that's to be expected when owning an online business! You can't get something for nothing! Now my list says that I need to write an article once per week at least. I should post that article to my blog, occassionally add other people's articles to my blog with my own introductory comments, and post more journal-like experiences on my blog such as this one. It says that I should make 6 posts in 6 specific forums that I have chosen, and if I can't get that done daily, then at least 6 posts over the week. It says that I should get 2 new links from both Link Machine (reciprocal) and Link Directory Submitter (one-way). And then work on my opt-in page, list, and traffic, etc.

Okay, so there's still some generalities there and it needs a little more work to generate the perfect to-do list for right now. Tonight I have accomplished all on my list, except that I need to learn something new and write a new article as I am overdue on that one!

The night is still young, so off I go to learn something more about Search Engine Optimization...
