Set a Success Strategy

Every manager should have a success strategy in place that he or
she can follow. A success strategy is not only good for them, but
it can also help their employees succeed as well. By having a
success strategy in place, you will be able to track your
results, and then deal with any shortcomings appropriately.

In order to write up a solid success strategy you should get
together with anybody who is going to be involved. So if you are
a manager, you will need to get all of your employees together in
order to ensure that everybody is on the same page. Setting up a
meeting in which everybody will be able to contribute to the
strategy can do this. One of the most important parts about
putting together a success strategy is making sure that your
employees believe in it. And if they have had the chance to help
you put the strategy together they will more than likely believe
in what it stands for. Employees will also be more prone to stick
with a plan that they helped to devise. If you decide to put
together a success strategy without consulting with your
employees, you may get a backlash from them when they come across
something that they do not agree with. So in order to avoid this
problem, all you need to do is get everybody on the same page
from the get go.

Also, when putting together a success strategy makes sure you set
goals to go along with it. This way everybody will have something
to work towards, and they will be able to feel a sense of
accomplishment when the goal is completed on time. On the other
hand, if you fail to reach your goal, you will then be able to
reassess your success strategy and find out where you went wrong.
If you have no way of tracking success, you will have no way of
making sure that your strategy works.

Finally, make sure that you success strategy is worthwhile. You
do not want to set easily obtainable goals that do not take any
hard work by your employees. If you do this you are only cheating
yourself as well as your employees. Nobody will feel good about
themselves if they only strive to be average.

A success strategy is something that every company should have in
place. If you do not have one at this time, you should seriously
consider it. Putting together a success strategy is a relatively
quick job, and with the help of your employees you will have no
problem at all collecting ideas. Do not overlook this much-needed
aspect of a successful organization.

First of all, if your blog is keyword-rich, the search engine spiders will visit your site's quality content, especially if you update and ping your blog regularly, once a week at the very least. Once the search engines see that you make regular posts, your site cannot be ignored, especially if you offer information that is useful and valuable. It doesn't hurt to post to your blog every day if you can, and track your keywords with a keyword tracking tool to make sure you're using the best keywords possible.

Other people will visit your blog if you have a Blogger, Wordpress, or other account. Some people have their blogs hosted right on their website. It's a good idea to post your blog to many of the top blog directories. When your blog site is submitted, this allows others to find your site and your links. It's another way of making your links visible to the internet world. Your topic is placed within a category, such as "Online Business", and can be searched by those looking for blogs on that subject. This can create huge traffic for you and your sites. You can also post your blogs to forums with your links at the end, so that if you provide some helpful advice, people will be tempted to click on your links, thereby generating more traffic and potential sales for you.

Another useful place to post your blogs is on blogger submission sites, such as Blogsrater.com. At sites like these, you post your blog URL and description, which is categorized for other people to search for your blog topic specifically and make comments on it. Many people don't realize the importance of making comments to other people's blogs, and keeping track of and responding to the comments people submit to your blogs. You want to try and create an ongoing communication, not just a static blog. The more other people see your blog being commented on, the more importance they give the topic, and the more traffic you will create. You want your readership to grow in leaps and bounds and this is the way to do it! Don't make your site a static one, and try to generate as much communication around your posts as possible.

Finally, a useful technique growing in popularity lately is adding adsense ads and banners to your blog to generate clicks and additional income for you. Optimizing your blogs by adding links to other areas of your site or other sites that don't necessarily have to be blogs will get your other links noticed and indexed faster.

What the NHL Playoffs Can Teach You About Business

The NHL playoffs are just getting underway, and the excitement is mounting in both players and fans alike. For some business owners, this may be the only distraction they will allow. I, for one, have been tuning into each home team game, feeling more and more pressed for business time - I wonder why! While watching last night's game, it struck me how similar the playoff mentality is to how we should be conducting our businesses, and what we can learn as business owners from our hockey addiction!

When the players hit the ice, they have a game plan that is the result of an entire season's worth of planning, hard work, wins, losses, injuries, good and bad plays, penalties, teamwork, goal setting, and evaluation to name a few. Teams don't make it to the playoffs without going through this process and without working hard to achieve success. Similarly, in business, we start out with a business plan, and before we reach a successful level, we have to work hard at setting and achieving our goals; We may win some, we may lose some; We make mistakes, pick ourselves up again, evaluate our progress, and alter the plan until we come up in profit.

The playoffs are a time of incredible focus, and you can see this in the players' eyes on the bench and on the ice. They are focused on one thing, despite distractions from the cheering crowd, and despite what else is going on in their lives. No matter what, they are focused on their personal and team achievement, and that sweet taste of champaign from the Stanley Cup that could soon be theirs. But this doesn't come without focus, hard work, persistence, determination, consistency, and courage. When you see the oxygen tanks coming out for the triple OTs, you know they are going above and beyond. In our businesses, we may get a lucky bounce at times too, but we are not truly rewarded unless we maintain the same focus on our goals and dreams, and the same consistency which creates positive results for us. This also means having the physical health, strength, capacity, and endurance of a top-notch athlete.

This cannot always be accomplished on our own. NHL players have their own unique skills and abilities and achieve their own personal stats. But to make it to the Stanley Cup final, they need to do it as a team. Teamwork means working together in both practices and games to evaluate the competitors, generate strategies and plays, executing them at the appropriate times, and evaluating their progress. All of this takes place under the direction of coaches. Communication and flexibility in both coaches and players to change the game plan when necessary are critical. Only the best lines will hit the ice in critical moments of the game. Business owners can go it alone, but the best results are achieved through this same kind of teamwork - through networking and joint ventures, and talking to your prospects and customers. Those who choose a mentor or business coach whose goals and achievements are higher than one's own and who will keep them motivated will draw success to them; Those who know when something isn't working in their business plans and who have the flexibility to make changes will find success; Those who communicate well with their team will help themselves and those on their team get through difficult times and get ahead of the rest.

Finally, players and fans in the NHL playoffs have an unbridled amount of enthusiasm, and a positive attitude and spirit, without which they would never reach their full potential as individuals and team players, and never get to raise Lord Stanley's Cup above their heads in front of thousands of screaming fans in the finals. They have a dream in mind that carries them to victory. In our businesses, we are also more victorious when we have a support network, full of positive, enthusiastic, and energized team players who know that nothing will stop us from reaching our moments of glory. These moments will come, as we watch our playoff heroes on the ice, follow their examples, and try to do as they do in our businesses to reach our prize at the end!

One of the questions that I'm sure many people starting an online or offline business ask themselves is: "Can I really do this when I'm not really a salesman?" The thing is, being a good salesman does not just mean being good at making sales. Of course that is part of it, but what is really important is building yourself into a successful and positive leader, as well as building relationships with your customer-base. Whenever you feel like a lousy salesman, remember that you can build yourself into whatever you want to be with a little determination and effort. The following are a few sales tactics to keep in mind that can help turn you into a super-star salesman!

Advertising and marketing are huge when it comes to making sales. This requires that you have a source of income and that you set a budget that you can afford. While there are many free ways to advertise your products and services, building a business does take a monetary investment and before you get started, you want to make sure you can afford to maintain your business.

Next you want to have a business plan, which includes clear goals and objectives about where you see your business going and how you want it to grow in the future. You can always modify it later as things change and grow, but starting out with written goals will help define your path and process, and will help predict your results.

Writing good ads is vital to your sales success and can be quite tricky. Even minor word changes can have a huge impact on your sales. You can hire someone to write ads for you, or learn how to create headlines that have impact. Once you learn how to write good ad copy, you can run the same ad for years and still get the same great results. Your headlines should appeal to a feeling or emotion, such as stress, and offer some benefit, such as relief. They should make a customer want to take action!

Your sales approach is not just about writing good advertisements. You also want to take advantage of offline marketing strategies, such as making referrals by talking to people you know and meet, taking them out for coffees and lunches, and making phone calls. Do this not only for your prospects, but for your existing customers whom you want to build and maintain relationships with. Know who your customers are and what they want. Understand what motivates them and why they would want to buy from you! You can also do this online by building your newsletter and subscriber list, and offering freebies such as an e-book or e-course.

When you already know you've made a sale, it is important to develop up-sales, or offer something else at the same time that you have already sold them something else. Especially if a good relationship already exists there, customers may be more tempted to buy a little more product for a little extra cost from someone they trust. Not only that, but if you offer a package rather than an individual item, you have the potential to sell more.

If you apply these tactics consistently, and you plan and take action, then your sales will eventually skyrocket! Remember the bottom line is your relationship with your customers. If you are a leader, your customers will follow you!
