How often do you blog, and how often is it necessary for you to blog to create a successful website?

While daily blogging may create more unique visits to your website, you start to reach a plateau in traffic, and you may even see a decrease in traffic thereafter. How important is it that you blog every day?

Truth is, some blogs that are updated every day may just be overkill -an attempt to provide quality content that gets boring and stale.
I am very excited when I can just write a natural post such as this one that isn’t full of internet marketing gobbledy-gook.

I came across a great article in Digg that covers the bases on this argument. It’s called Why Blog Post Frequency Doesn’t Matter Anymore, and I think it’s well worth the read if you have some concerns about daily blogging.

Spamming the search engines with keyword packed posts is not so much the norm anymore. Turning readers off with too much content may be worse than not having enough quality content.

It’s up to you to decide for yourself how often you blog, but this article may give you another perspective on the matter. For most online marketers, easing up on the blogging may free up some of your time to work on other things.

Read the article here: Why Blog Post Frequency Doesn’t Matter Anymore

Disasters like what has occurred in Japan and around the world make one stop and think about what and who is important in this life…My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are suffering and have lost loved ones.

It makes those of us who are safe and living well wonder what we can do to help…To me donating money, even if I don’t have any, feels good, and yet at the same time, I often think it feels like empty giving and that I wish I could do more than give cash when I don’t really know how my money will be used.

There are many ways to volunteer your skills and your time to helping those in need, and things you can give other than money.

As spring is almost upon us, I have felt inclined to do some spring cleaning, recycling, and donating to feel I’ve done something to help these poor people in Japan, and others in need as well, not to mention helping our planet.

We can’t forget the environment and how global warming is changing our planet as we know it, causing flooding, erratic weather patterns, earthquakes and tsunamis, and we have to think about what we can do to change our world for the better, reduce carbon emissions, and save our planet from disasters such as this one.

So today, and this spring, and this year for me marks a new awakening to what I can do to help our planet, and our people. We all want to make a difference in the world, to others, and those we do business with, and sometimes it’s hard to know exactly how to do this.

I am still learning ways to help, and I think it’s a lifelong process of discovery as to what we can do that makes us feel satisfied personally, and yet is enough to help in a significant way.

To start spring off on the right foot, and move this process forward for me, I did some things that I hope will help the world:

1. I donated money to The Salvation Army, Unicef, and the Red Cross to help those in Japan. I have often focused more on my city with little concern about the world internationally, but we can’t forget that we are one planet, one people, and that we can spread our help and love to those all over the world, not just where we live. What happens to the rest of the world can happen to us too.

2. I donated money to the Interfaith Food Bank to help those in my city who are hungry. I complain a lot these days about my grocery bill, but donating to the Food Bank makes me feel that despite how broke I may be at times, I really do have it good. I eat well and often and plenty, while others go hungry. This is the least I can do to realize that I do have a lot to give when I think I don’t.

3. I donated 10 best-selling books to the Public Library. Some of these books were brand new books, and I’m happy to know that other people who can’t afford to purchase as many, or any, of the books that I do are about to enjoy what I have enjoyed for free. I am also happy to support the Public Library -an amazing place that allows people to learn and grow.

4. I donated 40 more books to the Women in Need Thrift store, and once again, am pleased to know that items I once purchased are going to be read and enjoyed by others who need it more than I do.

5. I gathered up a bag full of clothing and shoes to donate to Women in Need. Items that no longer fit, that I don’t like or wear anymore, but once did. To know that my purchases are going to someone who will appreciate what I can no longer use makes me happy.

6. I am donating my old TV, because I feel materialistic and greedy having purchased a new one. In fact this one purchase, along with the disaster in Japan, sparked my need to give.

7. I found at least 2 shoe boxes worth of toys and trinkets that I can give to kids in need via Samaritan’s Purse to donate for next Christmas. I found out how to go about donating a shoe box, and will take the steps this year to get it done!

8. I have other toys and trinkets that I think my nieces and nephews might enjoy as future gifts to give.

9. I have other books that I will tear the covers off of to recycle the paper and help our planet.

10. I did my bottle and container recycling today and unplugged something that didn’t need to be plugged in!

Here are 10 cool ways that you can give to those less fortunate and those in need in our troubled times. Instead of thinking about how you can make more money, think about how you can give more. What comes around goes around, and you will reap the benefits, and be paid in more ways than just monetary.

Blessings to all!

Today is green day and almost the beginning of spring which brings fresh growth and new beginnings…

I have done some thinking lately and feel that my monthly progress report is no longer useful information for my supporters and readers, so I am discontinuing it as of today. I hope to replace it with more frequent posts that are more content-oriented, and more valuable to my readers.

More thinking is required at this point, so please stay tuned for something fresh and new to come!

Thanks to all for your continued support!

At last, a fresh new post that isn’t a monthly progress report!

Sometimes things don’t go your way with your online business, and it puts that little bit of stress into your already busy life that you just didn’t need that day or that week.

But as frustrated as you may get, it may be a sign that it’s time to make a change, put some effort in, talk to others in your business, talk to your client base, and to reconnect with your long lost clients, support network, and friends.

This week I decided to finally make the change in hosting services from Plug-in Profit Site’s old Host4Profit web hosting service to the new HostGator which is a requirement now for signing up with the Plug-in Profit Site.

I can’t leave Host4Profit without singing my praises for it, as it was my biggest monthly paycheck and favourite program until this switch was made.

I know that HostGator is in the top 10 web hosts and provides excellent customer service among other things, but there was nothing wrong with Host4Profit in my mind, and I have been a loyal customer since 2006.

I am sad to leave them, but unfortunately due to Plug-in Profit Site clients flocking to the required HostGator, it is cheaper and more profitable for me to also make the change. I will always been a supporter of Host4Profit and do my best to continue to promote it.

Of course while making this change I came across a few of the usual problems when making a huge change to my website/host/blog, and my blog was not accessible all of the sudden. I can’t say I’ve made the most exciting posts over the past 6 months, but losing that work and complete access to your blog is never a good thing!

Lucky for me and the thousands of other Plug-in Profit Site members, the Plug-in Profit Site has an amazing support crew, namely Pat Brucoli and Darrin McLaughlin, who have been there for me and countless others since the beginning of time, which for me was 2006.

I have to say these 2 have been my lifeline with the Plug-in Profit Site. Pat and Darrin are always there for every forum poster, and have incredible technical knowledge and expertise.

You can say that about lots of people, but Pat is definitely unique and stands out from the rest in that she is a kind, caring, empathetic, funny, genuine, and real soul who will make your entire Plug-in Profit Site experience rewarding, worthwhile, meaningful, fun, tolerable, bearable, satisfying, motivating, and successful.

Darrin will always be quick to solve your website issues, mess-ups, build your site, make your site, and will go above and beyond to help the Plug-in Profit Site members in any way he can. I have had much of my site and work done, fixed, and created by Darrin, many times at no extra cost to me.

There are many other great and wonderful members of the Plug-in Profit Site, all who are right there for you in the forum whenever you need a helping hand – many of them complete strangers, and some of them long-term members and friends.

I’m the first to admit that I’ve not been on top of my game completely in this business, and have gone months slipping into the background, disappearing, and then reappearing whenever I need help.

Let me tell you how much it means to me and how inspiring it is to go back to the Plug-in Profit Site forum seeking help, only to find your old friend Pat, good ol’ Pat, and Darrin just waiting there for you with an open, helping, and overly generous hand.

I can’t give enough thanks to these 2 Plug-in Profit Site support staff members and friends who are and have always been there for me, and have never disappeared into the background when I have, we have…

One of the biggest, most important things in buidling your online business is the people, your client base - being there for them, always, never giving up on them, and ensuring that relationship lasts and the support is never going to go away.

Pat and Darrin, you are perfect models of how we should all be treating our clients! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Now I will reap the benefits of learning something new here, reconnecting with my friends and support network, and having something fresh to write about. I am ever grateful for all the help available at the Plug-in Profit Site! What a great program that I am proud to be a part of
